On October 3, Design Museum Gent will reopen following four years of extensive renovation and expansion. The reopening marks a new chapter for the museum, which is now the largest design museum in Belgium.

With a new museum wing and a renewed museum concept, the museum highlights design as a driver of change. Based on the idea that everything around us is designed – and can therefore be redesigned – the museum explores how design shapes both everyday life and the systems that structure our society.

The museum’s collection is presented alongside contemporary interventions and a new opening exhibition on design and democracy. Together, they create a vibrant space where design inspires reflection, dialogue and new perspectives.
